Welcome to the Carterville Student Choir Blog. We are currently preparing to attend Lifeway's SonPower 2008--Journey with us as we travel from Petal, MS to Orlando, FL from June 29 - July 5, 2008 for an outrageous week as we sing, play, and worship our Lord. Check back often for some great pictures and feel free to post a message.

We will be meeting at CBC @ 12:30 to load up and have prayer. The plan is to depart for Orlando @ 12:45. It will be a semi-long day of traveling to Tallahassee, FL where we will spend the night at the DoubleTree Hotel-Downtown. Pray for us as we travel.
monday | 6.30.08
Rise and shine, sleepy-head. Today will be another semi-long day of travel the rest of the way to Orlando. Once we get to our destination, The Florida Hotel, we will check-in and get settled into our room. Afterwards, we will check out The Florida Mall (which is conveniently connected to our hotel). Don't worry the fun has only begun! This evening will be our first singing opportunity with several hundred students from all over the country. And to top off the fun for today there will be a concert by the Christian band, 33 Miles. How's that for a full day, but there's more to come...

Today is the first full day of SonPower activities...we'll start the day off with with some singing, praise, and Bible Study...followed by a grand adventure at Islands of Adventure (Universal Studios). We'll gather back with the other from SonPower for an evening rehearsal and worship.

You only thought yesterday was great....just wait! Today we will start the day off on the right foot - some rehearsal, some praise, and some Bible Study. Then the rest of the day is devoted to a magical place...you guessed it...DISNEY!!! We will spend all afternoon and evening at Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios). One of my most favorite things to do at Hollywood Studios is watch Fantasmic! If you've never been, hold onto your socks; it is an incredible water, fireworks, and laser show...did I forget to mention the music - it just takes me back. I hope you got some rest last night because we'll be out late tonight.

I told you that you needed to get some sleep night before last! Today will be very similar to Tuesday. We'll have rehearsal, praise, and Bible Study with the rest of our SonPower friends before we take off to Universal Studios. This time we will get to see how they make some of those cool blockbuster movies. We'll return this evening for rehearsal and evening worship. I'm pretty sure everybody will sleep well tonight.

Happy 4th of July! This morning we get to have one last rehearsal before beginning our recording session. For those of you that don't know, SonPower flies in recording engineers from Nashville to produce a professional recording of the musical, Stand and Shout, which was written by Dennis and Nan Allen (Dennis is also the director of the SonPower Choir). After we get home, everybody that went will get their own copy of the CD that is produced today. Tonight we will celebrate Independence Day by eating at Tony Roma's...there's nothing better than BBQ to celebrate this day. The day's not over yet! We will return for the Closing Bash which will feature Christian recording artist, Matthew West in concert. It's going to be a great night of worship!

Have we been gone for almost a week already? Let's stay for another week! Unfortunately, we have to go home...we've got church tomorrow. Today will be a loooong day of travel back to Petal. We hope to be back at CBC by about 8:15. That should give you plenty of time to get some good rest and be back at church for Bible Study at 9:15 in the morning. See ya in the tomorrow!
